MASER MS_EXIA PROBE The MASER MS_EXIA probe is a level and environmental sensor specifically designed to provide high control accuracy of volumes and any leaks in the tanks. FUNCTIONS The Maser MS_EXIA probe works according to the principles of the process of magnetostrictive measurement. A cable of magnetostrictive material is integrated inside the probe stem. Magnets are incorporated inside the floats which magnetize the cable exactly to the level of the product they measure. The probe’s electronic sensor transmit current pulses along the cable. A circular magnetic field is thus generated. At the exact point where the floats are positioned, a torsional wave develops due to the overlap of the two magnetic fields. The wave propagates towards the probe head. In the head of the probe these waves are transformed into electrical signals. The exact position of the floats and the temperature are calculated and verified based on the difference in the wave propagation time.
